About the Role
The System Reimbursement Manager serves as a critical guardian of financial integrity across a diverse portfolio of facilities, including acute care, rehabilitation, psychiatric units, skilled nursing, and specialized centers for End Stage Renal Disease and Organ Transplants. This role exists to ensure that proper payments are received from third-party programs and that all related accounting is meticulously maintained.
You will act as the primary liaison between the facilities and the Corporate Reimbursement Department, managing the complexity of multiple reimbursement streams such as Medicare, Medicaid, USFHP, CHAMPUS, and Managed Care. Your work involves a significant amount of strategic support, ranging from regulatory analysis and financial modeling to resolving system-wide reporting issues. The position demands a high degree of integrity and strict adherence to all applicable regulations, ensuring that every facility receives the reimbursement due to it while maintaining compliance with federal and state standards.

- check_circlePrepare and review monthly contractual allowance journal entries and supporting calculations
- check_circlePrepare final hospital and home office cost reports with comparative analysis prior to submission
- check_circleEnsure Medicare, Medicaid, and CHAMPUS cost reports are submitted by due dates
- check_circleCoordinate Medicare field audits and review audit adjustments prior to settlement issuance
- check_circleAct as a liaison to external financial auditors for interim and final audits
- check_circlePrepare and submit cost report reopening requests to obtain additional reimbursement
- check_circlePrepare and submit appeals and position papers to the PRRB for inappropriate settlements
- check_circleAssist in preparation of Social Accountability and Community Needs reports
- check_circleAnalyze and inform Hospital Administration of financial impact of operational decisions
- check_circleMaintain rate tables for Medicare, Medicaid, and CHAMPUS to ensure proper payments
- check_circleCollaborate on cross-functional teams to address system standardization needs
- check_circleAssist in authoring thorough policies and procedures for standardized processes
