This position serves as a vital bridge between kidney dialysis patients and the financial resources they need to access care. The primary mission is to explore, recommend, and coordinate insurance and potential financial assistance options within a specified geographic area. By doing so, the role not only maximizes revenue for Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA) but also upholds the company's core values and customer service philosophy.
You will act as a dedicated advocate, meeting regularly with patients at their local clinics to navigate complex insurance landscapes. Your work ensures that patients understand their eligibility for alternatives such as Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Supplement, State Renal programs, and COBRA. Beyond education, you will guide patients through application processes, verify eligibility with Social Security offices, and manage the ongoing coordination of benefits, including the critical 30-month coordinator period for those transitioning from employer group health plans.
The role requires a strong balance of empathy and precision. You will discuss sensitive financial situations, handle disputed claims, and ensure that all documentation for indigent waivers and annual renewals is accurate and timely. As a liaison between patients, local agents, and the Accounts Receivable Department, you will monitor insurance status monthly to prevent payment anomalies and ensure dialysis treatments are covered. This position is essential for maintaining the financial stability of the clinic while providing patients with the peace of mind that their care is secured.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to adhere to the FMCNA Compliance Program and all regulatory requirements. The position involves extensive local travel to various clinics, requiring a valid driver's license and the ability to work independently in a healthcare facility environment.
