As the Manager, Chemical & Propellant Operations (Powder Processing), you will serve as the key technical leader for the Chandler site, providing direction to process engineers and chemical operations technicians. Your mission is to ensure the safe processing, manufacture, qualification, and delivery of energetic materials that support both production and new product development. This role is central to driving operational excellence, developing future technical leaders, and strengthening organizational capability.
In this position, you will champion a proactive safety culture, lead statistical process improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities for automation and digital manufacturing. You will act as the primary site representative for chemical operations during customer engagements, audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and reliability standards while maintaining on-time delivery of energetic materials.
Candidates must be aware that this role is subject to ITAR regulations. The essential duties require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline. 10-15+ years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of Process Safety Management responsibility in a leadership capacity. Experience in energetic materials, propellants, pyrotechnics, explosives, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, military ordnance operations, or related process industries. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or equivalent software. Experience with databases, process analytics tools, Visio, MS Project, or similar systems.
