This Maintenance/Millwright position at our Decatur, IL East Plant is designed to safely maintain and install production equipment, ensuring the highest quality for our customers while driving continuous improvement efforts. You will play a critical role in keeping machinery and equipment operating at a world-class level by executing preventive and predictive maintenance requirements.
Your day-to-day involves rebuilding or replacing motors, powered transmissions, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveying systems, and pumps. You will troubleshoot mechanical devices, read technical manuals and blueprints, and manage work orders to ensure all equipment remains in top mechanical and electrical condition. Safety and food quality are top priorities; you will be expected to maintain a clean work environment, adhere to all safety and GMP rules, and contribute ideas for improvements.
This is a full-time, hourly position with a unique training and rotation structure. New hires will train on the 1st shift (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM) for approximately 60 days. Following training, you will transfer to a backshift (2nd, 3rd, or swing) as needed, operating on a 7-day rotation schedule (7 on, 2 off, 7 on, 3 off). The role requires the ability to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, with advance notice as needed.
Successful candidates will undergo on-the-job training to acquire necessary skills and certifications, which will be assessed against established standards. Training includes ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental protocols, as well as company planner operations. Equipment-specific training may cover JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. All candidates must successfully complete a background check.
