About the Role
The Maintenance Unit Supervisor serves as a vital leader within the Central Shops Department in Davenport, IA. This role is designed to provide direction to a union crew while offering technical troubleshooting to identify and resolve maintenance issues. You will act as a technical leader and trainer for mechanical and electrical craft employees, ensuring a customer-centric environment that prioritizes productivity, safety, quality, and rapid problem-solving.
In this position, you will supervise craft employees on the 10pm to 6am shift. Your day-to-day involves executing planned and unplanned work to meet department goals, maintaining a safe work environment, and leading safety discussions. You will manage crew allocation fairly, decide on appropriate crewing arrangements based on labor agreements, and work closely with craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving techniques to restore production.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- verifiedMinimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience
- verifiedMinimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports
- verifiedLegally authorized to work in the United States
Nice to Have
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or union environment. Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and practices related to HR/IR including the bargaining and local agreements. A working knowledge of principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing (ABS).
