About the Role
A role in a Supply Chain Facility places you on the very front lines of getting product to the guest as fast as possible—a critical differentiator and one of the most essential Logistics functions. As an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 (MT2), you will be part of a team that reaches beyond the bounds of your immediate group to partner across the enterprise and find solutions that support the business.
Whether focusing on regional distribution centers, import warehouses, or fulfillment and flow centers, you will have the chance to positively impact thousands of fellow team members and Target guests worldwide. You will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated material handling equipment, ensuring high equipment availability rates. Your work will involve using preventive and predictive maintenance processes, rapidly troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and restoring equipment to service to support the successful operation of the supply chain facility.
You will collaborate with other service technicians, validate the quality of work for outside specialty contractors, and work with building leaders to optimize material handling equipment. Additionally, you may assist in training other maintenance technicians and technician trainees to enhance their technical skills and job knowledge.

- check_circlePerform preventive and predictive maintenance using job plans, procedures, and manuals
- check_circleCollaborate with technicians and engineers to conduct Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures
- check_circleCreate and close Work Orders using handheld devices and asset management mobile apps
- check_circleTrain maintenance technicians and trainees to enhance their technical skills and job knowledge
- check_circleOperate Target-owned vehicles to complete exterior maintenance and procure parts and supplies
- check_circleFollow safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- check_circleExecute sanitation and maintenance standards for industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have
Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field. 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field. Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards. Experience with robotic operation/maintenance.
