About the Role
This Maintenance Mechanic position is located in Jacksonville, FL, within the Real Estate Development and Management division. The role serves as a trained professional responsible for the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical maintenance of state buildings and their HVAC systems. The incumbent ensures building systems operate efficiently through routine minor mechanical maintenance and preventative care.
The day-to-day environment involves visually inspecting equipment daily, performing scheduled maintenance tasks such as oiling, greasing, and filter changes, and managing inventory for repairs. The role requires a high degree of physical versatility, including climbing stairs and ladders, working in tight spaces and basements, and operating near loud noises and electrical equipment. Success in this position relies on maintaining a professional image and excellent public relations skills, as the incumbent is in continuous contact with tenants, co-workers, and the public.
