This position serves as the operational backbone for our engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring the building, grounds, and physical plant operate with a relentless focus on safety, security, and asset protection. You will be the primary leader for the emergency response team, managing critical facility issues as they arise. Beyond technical oversight, you are accountable for the department's budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance strategies, and energy conservation initiatives, all while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
Your day is defined by a balance of strategic planning and hands-on leadership. You will supervise engineering staff in the absence of the Director of Engineering, overseeing the optimal performance of complex systems including HVAC-R, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and life safety equipment. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to managing the physical condition of the facility, inspecting assets, and coordinating necessary repairs, renovations, or equipment replacements.
You will also drive a culture of exceptional service, empowering your team to resolve guest problems effectively and fostering a positive atmosphere for guest relations. This role requires you to manage profitability by establishing maintenance priorities and communicating business objectives clearly across all areas of responsibility. Additionally, you will lead human resources activities, from recognizing team successes and providing constructive feedback to ensuring fair disciplinary procedures and maintaining open, collaborative relationships with your staff.
This role operates on a 1st/2nd shift schedule. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays to ensure continuous facility coverage. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
