About the Role
As a Scattered Site Mechanic within our Housing Programs department, you will be responsible for the performance and delivery of quality services across Westhab properties in Yonkers. This role is vital to maintaining safe, functional living environments for our residents.
Your day will involve completing assigned work orders and assisting with apartment turnover repairs and upgrades for scattered site units. You will troubleshoot and execute repairs on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, while also handling general repairs in painting, plastering, and appliance maintenance. Effective communication is key; you will consult with the Lead Mechanic on repair statuses, prepare daily field reports, and serve as a liaison between tenants and staff. The role also requires responding to emergencies and participating in an on-call rotation.
