About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will lead a team of hourly machinists and fabricators, ensuring projects are completed timely, cost-effectively, and within quality standards. You will prioritize and assign work, quote machining and fabrication jobs for external customers, and coordinate with local department managers to support the caster repair department.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing team development through training, coaching, and performance reviews, while enforcing company procedures and policies. You will serve as a formal interface internally and externally, ensuring that EH&S and Quality objectives are met. Additionally, you will oversee the completion of operational documentation, such as travelers and job routers, as well as safety documentation, including first reports of injury and JSAs.
Hiring Process
Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen and possess a valid driver's license. Classification and base pay rate will be determined based on your specific skillset and prior experience.
