The Tool Room Supervisor is a senior-level leadership position responsible for orchestrating the day-to-day operations of the tool room. This role serves as the central hub for managing all aspects of injection molding tool maintenance, repair, optimization, and continuous improvement. You will lead the tooling team through training, development, and mentorship, ensuring a culture of accountability and motivation while overseeing the lifecycle management of both proprietary and customer-owned tooling.
In this capacity, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic planning. Your day involves managing preventative maintenance schedules, coordinating with outside vendors for major repairs, and making critical sourcing decisions. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, and process engineering teams to solve complex manufacturing issues, optimize cycle times, and improve cavitation and quality. The role demands a high-energy, team-based management style that balances technical precision with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
The tool room is a dynamic environment where safety and precision are paramount. You will frequently work around moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals. While the noise level is usually moderate, the use of hearing protection may be required occasionally. The role involves physical activity, including the ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, with the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds or move 100+ pounds using proper gear.
Candidates for this position will be evaluated on their ability to perform essential duties, including mold repair, project management, and team leadership. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals with the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability to manage tooling projects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that all team members have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of delivering quality products to our customers.
