As a Night Shift Machine Operator, you will take overall responsibility for the production line, managing the process from production to packaging. This role is critical for ensuring goods are produced in the correct quantities and strictly adhere to agreed-upon specifications. You will be the primary point of contact for machine operations, including starting and stopping the equipment, performing parison controls, and monitoring material control metrics such as weight distribution and regrind levels.
Your day-to-day involves conducting regular quality control checks and visual inspections to maintain high standards. You will prepare the machine for mold changes, accurately record production data and any issues encountered, and perform autonomous maintenance activities. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with Machine Operators, Shift Supervisors, and Mold Change Teams to ensure efficient operations and maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the department.
This position operates on a night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Success in this role requires a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility, adhering to all ALPLA policies, procedures, and OSHA safety standards at all times. The role involves physical demands including standing for the entire shift, lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, and utilizing close vision for detailed inspections.
