About the Role
The Coating Assistant Operator is a vital member of our production team, dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our coating machinery. This role exists to support seamless manufacturing workflows by mastering machine setup, operation, and maintenance protocols. You will be the first line of defense in maintaining high safety standards, actively identifying hazards, and adhering to strict safety regulations regarding machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and emergency protocols.
Your day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of technical operation and continuous learning. You will assist with machine startup and shutdown, operate online support equipment like HMI systems and thickness gauges, and perform critical Make Ready tasks such as die and pump setups. Beyond technical execution, you will participate in Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) practices, coordinate material handling, and engage in quality issue resolution. This position requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a team-based environment, capable of working with limited supervision while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Work Schedule
This position operates on a rotating shift schedule that changes every four weeks to meet production demands. You must be willing and able to work any and all shifts, which may include 8-hour or 12-hour durations depending on operational needs. Shift options include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, as well as day and night rotations.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role will undergo training to maintain proficiency in all tasks listed in the employee training record. Participation in ongoing training, team activities, and continuous improvement efforts is an integral part of the role. Successful applicants will also complete powered industrial vehicle (PIV) training and certification if required.
