About the Role
As a Utility Machine Operator, you will be the backbone of our print media operations. You will set up, operate, and monitor print and finishing equipment, ensuring that every piece of output meets our rigorous quality standards. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and takes pride in the tangible results of their work.
You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team to support the production flow, rotating between different machines and workstations to ensure efficiency. Your day will involve loading substrates, performing basic changeovers, and conducting quality inspections on registration, color, and finishing accuracy. Beyond machine operation, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and organized workspace, assisting with preventive maintenance, and communicating promptly with supervisors regarding any mechanical or material issues.
This position offers a unique opportunity to learn multiple machines while directly contributing to the success of our clients' public affairs initiatives. Whether you are logging production data, assisting with packaging, or troubleshooting minor issues, your work ensures that our advocacy campaigns are delivered on time and with excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleSet up, operate, and monitor print and finishing machines according to job specifications
- check_circleLoad paper, substrates, and other materials and perform basic machine changeovers
- check_circleInspect in-process work for quality, including registration, color, and finishing accuracy
- check_circleFollow production schedules and record production counts, downtime, and basic machine data
- check_circleCommunicate mechanical issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to supervisors promptly
- check_circleRotate between different machines and workstations to support overall production flow
- check_circleMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all plant safety procedures
- check_circleUse basic computer interfaces or HMIs to enter job parameters and log quality checks
- check_circleAssist with packaging, palletizing, and staging finished goods for shipping or further processing
- check_circleSupport preventive maintenance activities by cleaning equipment and reporting wear or damage
Requirements
- verifiedMachine operation in a manufacturing or print environment
- verifiedBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting
- verifiedReading and interpreting job tickets and work orders
- verifiedBasic computer and HMI interface skills
- verifiedSafe material handling and lifting techniques
- verifiedUnderstanding of basic print or finishing processes
- verifiedAdherence to safety procedures (PPE, lockout/tagout, etc.)
- verifiedForklift Operator Certification (preferred)
- verifiedOSHA 10-Hour General Industry (preferred)
- verifiedLockout/Tagout safety training (preferred)
- verifiedFirst Aid/CPR certification (a plus)
