This facility operates within a hospital setting, delivering comprehensive hematology and oncology services with established protocols for coordinated care between the cancer center and hospital services.
About the Facility Location
The position is based in New Braunfels, an area known for its blend of outdoor recreation and historic preservation. The region offers diverse attractions including water-based activities along the Comal River, the historic Gruene District, and family-oriented destinations like Landa Park and Schlitterbahn Waterpark. Clinicians will also have access to Texas Hill Country attractions, including local wineries and barbecue establishments.
The Clinician's Workday
Clinicians will provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The role involves managing a daily caseload of 16-18 adult patients, conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating ongoing care. Documentation for all patient encounters and treatment planning activities is maintained through the Epic EMR system.
The schedule includes 1:4 call coverage, consisting of one weeknight call per week and one weekend call per month. The team is supported by three other Hem/Onc physicians, RNs, MAs, and a full office staff.
