Equiliem is seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Occupational Medicine for a local contract position in New York, New York. This role is designed for a licensed medical professional dedicated to evaluating and treating work-related injuries and illnesses while promoting overall workplace safety.
In this capacity, you will operate under the supervision of an occupational medicine physician to manage a diverse caseload. Your day will involve conducting pre-employment physicals, diagnosing conditions, and initiating treatment plans for issues ranging from musculoskeletal disorders to exposure-related illnesses. You will serve as a key advocate for employee health, collaborating with employers, insurance companies, and legal representatives to manage workers' compensation cases and facilitate return-to-work plans.
The position requires a commitment to health promotion and education, where you will counsel employees on ergonomics, preventive health practices, and safety protocols. You will also maintain comprehensive medical records and participate in safety meetings to address workplace health concerns.
This is a local contract role with a start date of June 22, 2026, for a duration of 52 weeks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays required. Please note that stipends are not provided for this local contract, and candidates must be local to the New York area.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current license and certification. While experience in Occupational Medicine is preferred, strong clinical skills in diagnosis and treatment, along with knowledge of occupational health regulations and workers' compensation laws, are essential.
