We are seeking two dedicated Literacy Coaches to join our elementary education team for the 2026/27 school year. This grant-funded position is pivotal in transforming literacy instruction across our district. The core mission is to empower elementary teachers with the art and science of literacy, ensuring every student reads on or above grade level.
In this role, you will move beyond traditional instruction to become a catalyst for professional growth. Your day will be defined by rapid coaching cycles, where you model best practices, observe classrooms, and provide direct, actionable feedback. You will facilitate professional learning sessions and collaborate closely with instructional leaders to implement strategies that drive student success. This position requires a unique blend of pedagogical expertise and the patience to work interactively with a diverse population of students and educators.
Candidates must hold a valid Nebraska Teaching License and a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on literacy. The selection process prioritizes candidates with five years of successful K-5 teaching experience, with a preference for those who have taught in urban settings. Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check, verify U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization, and provide a negative tuberculosis skin test result before employment begins.
