About the Role
SSi is seeking a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. This role is critical to supporting a Research, Development, and Testing and Evaluation (RDT&E) environment. You will serve as a technical partner to scientists and engineers, helping them leverage workstations and servers to solve computationally intensive problems.
In this position, you will manage servers and end-user workstations across both unclassified and classified network environments. Your day-to-day involves providing in-depth consulting for system operations, analyzing and implementing software modifications to improve performance, and managing application licenses and backup/recovery protocols. You will also play a key role in planning hardware acquisitions and developing operating policies while collaborating with vendors and other projects within the organization.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Dahlgren, VA, requiring a schedule of 4 days on-site and 1 day remote. Success in this position requires the ability to thrive in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities.
Security & Citizenship
To be eligible for this contract, candidates must be a US Citizen and able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Additionally, candidates must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or hold an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at the time of hire.
