Lifeguard Crew Members provide a safe experience for guests while they enjoy the aquatic areas aboard our vessels. In this shipboard role, you will supervise and operate all recreation spaces, ensuring the well-being of guests at all times. Reporting to the Port Adventures Manager, you will be the first line of defense in emergency situations, performing life-saving techniques, CPR, and first aid procedures as needed.
This position is more than just surveillance; it is about proactive engagement. You will address guest needs, answer questions, and communicate effectively with Lifeguard Coordinators and Recreation Managers. You will also maintain the cleanliness and readiness of facilities and equipment, ensuring that every guest interaction contributes to the magic of the voyage.
This is a unique opportunity to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel. You must be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to embrace a multicultural environment with strict rules and regulations. As a crew member, you will share a cabin with other team members and follow the ship's Assembly Plan and Safety Management System to ensure the safety of everyone on board.
To join our team, you must have a valid passport and be willing to obtain a C1/D Seaman's visa (Disney Cruise Line will provide the necessary documents). The selection process includes completing a pre-employment medical, obtaining a criminal background check, and passing a pre-hire swim test and lifeguard training. You must also bring approved work shoes.
Please note that Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug and alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass these tests will result in immediate termination.
