About the Organization

The United Planning Organization (UPO) is the designated Community Action Agency for Washington, D.C., serving the District's residents since 1962. Our vision is to create a city of thriving communities and self-sufficient residents, guided by our mission to unite people with opportunities.

About the Role

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within our Community Health Division's Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), you will play a vital role in delivering care to patients in a methadone treatment setting. You will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for triaging patients, assisting physicians with examinations, and conducting specimen collections such as breathalyzers and urine tests. This role requires maintaining open communication with nursing staff, physicians, and patients while ensuring patient rights are protected and safety protocols are strictly followed. You will also manage critical documentation for care observation, planning, and evaluation, and act as a first responder in emergency situations.
