Wells Fargo's Commercial Bank is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for Government to serve the Mountain and Midwest regions. In this capacity, you will act as a trusted advisor to large government entities, including cities, counties, school districts, utilities, and transit authorities. The role exists to lead and grow strategic relationships by delivering tailored financial solutions that address the unique operational challenges, funding cycles, and regulatory environments of the public sector.
You will serve as a strategic partner to financial decision-makers, proactively managing expectations and providing insights that support long-term partnerships. This position requires deep expertise in public sector operations and the ability to structure, modify, and renew complex credit facilities. Beyond traditional banking, you will drive innovation in public finance products, such as tax-exempt lending and sustainability-linked loans, while collaborating with product teams to align solutions with public sector mandates and long-term capital planning.

Demonstrated ability to build long term relationships with government clients and extensive experience with the RFP process. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core banking products and services, such as commercial lending and treasury management with focus on the public sector. Experience developing and maintaining external partnerships with Financial Advisors and key stakeholders. Completion of formal credit training program. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to deliver the organization to clients and prospects. Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships. Experience identifying and mitigating risk, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
