As a Lead Driver, you will be the brand on wheels, essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain. In this role, you will not only transport products safely and deliver office supplies on your assigned route but also train and mentor new delivery drivers. You will fill in for supervisors and cover drivers as needed, leading the daily completion of work which includes scheduling, assisting with deliveries, and performing routing functions.
You will partner with the Supervisor to address and resolve any issues, acting as a problem solver for our customers by providing support and accepting product returns. Depending on volume, you will organize and load product for delivery, utilizing the manifest to assure the most efficient delivery route and schedule. Safety is our utmost priority, and you will be expected to ensure safe work practices, embrace our safety culture, and maintain the cleanliness of your vehicle through pre-trip inspections.
Current Associates are not eligible for Retention or Sign On Bonuses. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history. Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC) and obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role. Basic English language skills and the ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift are required.

High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Minimum 1-year of truck driving experience (operating a 16ft or longer straight truck) or comparable driving experience. High volume / small package delivery experience.
