As a Lead Diesel Mechanic, you will oversee operations within our automotive maintenance division. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our fleet of service vehicles and heavy equipment, which play a pivotal role in our mission. You will supervise and lead a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, heavy-duty machinery, and other equipment.
In this position, you will schedule and oversee regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal fleet reliability and performance. You will diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide accurate solutions quickly and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety guidelines during the handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Additionally, you will manage inventory of parts and supplies, forecast needs, control budgetary expenditures, and maintain meticulous records of maintenance work, repairs, and schedules. You will also collaborate with other departments to improve internal processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
