The activity was the generating of electricity utilizing GE 60 Hz Gas Turbines. The electricity was supplied to a transmission company (FPL) which did not renew its seven-year purchase contract. The GE Turbines were removed, and DESOTO COUNTY PLANT LLC purchased the plant. There are no commercial activities currently at the site. Current Site Information The site is suitable for manufacturing, creating a data center, or a crypto-currency mine. There are no environmental issues with the site. The entire area is not located in any mandatory evacuation zone. The plant has three mutually exclusive energy sources - The onsite natural gas hook-up flows at 50 pounds per second at the baseload. Power for three GE 60Hz Gas Turbines (The world’s most powerful). Gas preheating facility on site. - 1.5 M Gallon Diesel Fuel Storage Tank with Unloading Station. - Three-phase electric power on-site. The Florida Power and Light Company Substation is adjacent to Plant. Water supply - Two 600ft deep producing water wells - 1.3 M Gallon demineralized water storage tank - A 750 thousand gallons raw water storage tank The plant has 20-year water-use permit from the State of Florida allowing: Annual Average - 76,100 gallons per day Peak Month – 610,00 gallons per day. Drought annual Average 77,400 gallons per day.
