About the Role

This position serves as a vital support role for highway, utility, and grade crews, as well as on-site plant locations. As a Laborer, you will perform a variety of construction duties, ranging from preparing ground surfaces and removing debris to operating compactors, raking dirt, and setting string markers. Your work ensures the safety and efficiency of the construction process, whether you are installing silt fences, managing manhole covers, or assisting with asphalt paving operations.

Depending on the specific crew assignment, you may focus on utility work, such as hand-shoveling trenches, guiding pipes into place, and connecting lines, or grade work, involving groundwork, cutting concrete, and assisting graders. You will work per the supervisor's instructions, often free from direct supervision on standard tasks but collaborating closely with equipment operators on more complex jobs. This role requires adaptability, as you may assist with operating various machinery if trained and be responsible for maintaining tools and equipment in a safe, clean condition.
