Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages
- check_circleEnsure proper patient identification and specimen labeling
- check_circlePerform kit testing and associated instrument maintenance including temperature monitoring
- check_circleInteract daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, and nursing staff
- check_circleComplete specimen receiving, processing, and load samples onto instruments
- check_circleEnter laboratory test orders into the laboratory information system
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or equivalent
- verifiedCompletion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation
- verifiedSix months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience
- verifiedPhlebotomist (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred
- verifiedMedical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (ASCP) or equivalent preferred
Nice to Have
One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Processing. Phlebotomist certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent. Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent.
