Hebrew Public is a small and growing network of schools operated by Hebrew Public: Charter Schools for Global Citizens. We are a secular organization that welcomes candidates of all backgrounds into a supportive and inclusive community. Across our network, we serve children from all backgrounds, helping them become global citizens who are strong problem solvers, aware communicators, and lifelong learners committed to making a positive difference in the world.
Our schools are models of racial and economic integration, academic excellence, and world language learning. We are rooted in the belief that all students deserve rigorous academics, strong relationships, and access to a globally minded education that expands what they see as possible for themselves.
As part of Hebrew Public, Philadelphia Hebrew Public (PHP) teachers and staff have the opportunity to bring that mission to life with students from over 37 zip codes across Philadelphia. Our community is primarily composed of Black and Brown students whose brilliance, curiosity, and potential drive our work every day.
PHP offers a place for educators who want their work to matter beyond the classroom walls, providing a unique environment to help close opportunity gaps while nurturing students academically, socially, and culturally. You don't need to speak Hebrew to apply, and we strongly encourage candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups to join our community.
We are seeking a skilled, collaborative, and student-centered Special Education Teacher to provide traditional push-in and pull-out support for elementary students with IEPs. This role is designed for an educator who brings strong instructional skills and a deep understanding of specially designed instruction. You will deliver targeted instruction, support students in accessing grade-level content, manage a caseload, and collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, service providers, and school leadership.
The ideal candidate builds meaningful relationships with students while maintaining strong systems for compliance, progress monitoring, and communication. At PHP, teachers are not expected to grow alone. We invest in educator development through an on-site team of Climate staff and Social Workers, instructional coaching, feedback cycles, and opportunities to apply for funds to support pathways towards teacher certification.
We are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. Candidates of color and those from backgrounds that are underrepresented in school leadership roles are strongly encouraged to apply.
