About the Role
The Jr. Accountant serves as a vital support pillar within Word of Life's finance team, ensuring the integrity of our financial operations while upholding our mission. This role is designed for an individual who combines technical accounting proficiency with a deep commitment to our faith-based values. You will be the backbone of our daily bookkeeping functions, managing the General Ledger, processing payroll, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of all cash accounts and donations.
In this position, you will work closely with the Accountant and Controller to facilitate month-end closing and provide essential backup for the Accounts Payables Clerk. Your day-to-day impact involves verifying departmental deposits, processing physical and online donations, and assisting donors with inquiries. This is an on-site role based at the Word of Life NY office, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with eligibility for overtime as needed to meet organizational goals.
