About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer and Technical Lead to drive the architecture and delivery of scalable microservices within a high-performance retail and eCommerce environment. This role is pivotal for bridging technical execution with business strategy, requiring a leader who can own solutions from initial analysis through to production maintenance.
You will serve as the technical anchor for a cross-functional team, collaborating directly with clients, architects, DevOps, and QA to define requirements and recommend optimal solutions. The position demands deep expertise in the Spring Boot ecosystem, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures, with a specific emphasis on integrating loyalty, rewards, and martech platforms.
Team Context
Operating in a remote capacity within Canada, you will lead a global team in an Agile environment. Success in this role requires not only hands-on coding proficiency but also the ability to mentor developers, enforce best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring the resilience, security, and performance of critical systems, often utilizing tools like New Relic for proactive monitoring and tuning.
