About the Role
The Janitorial Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of the YMCA facility and surrounding grounds. The role ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff. Team members will operate cleaning and maintenance equipment, manage seasonal tasks such as lawn care and snow removal, and set up or break down furniture for events. The position requires reliability and the ability to work independently while following instructions.
Work Environment
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The role involves physical activity such as climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods, walking, shoveling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 16 years of age. CPR and First Aid certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
