The College of Science is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join a high-performing team of IT professionals dedicated to serving the needs of faculty, staff, and students. The College of Science IT Team is working to streamline operations and standardize exceptional service across campus. This position will join a dynamic team led by a Director of IT for Liberal Arts and Sciences.
This role serves the College of Science on a broad range of IT support needs, orchestrating the provisioning, updating, and monitoring of computer systems, software, and networking environments. You will be responsible for maintaining operating efficiency and stability while ensuring the security and integrity of all systems and data. The position involves troubleshooting and resolving application, hardware, and communication problems, as well as promptly responding to outages and critical issues. You will collaborate with users and department leadership on the rollout of significant configuration changes and systems updates, developing and enhancing processes while creating technical and user documentation.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalency (where one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or a related area. The role requires knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the specialty area, along with a demonstrated discipline to complete work assignments of increasing complexity under moderate supervision.
