Abbott is a global healthcare leader dedicated to helping people live more fully at all stages of life. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritional products, and branded generic medicines. We believe all employees are essential to creating life-changing breakthroughs, performing key duties that drive our mission forward.
In this role, you will partner with Abbott and Talent Solutions to support our manufacturing and testing operations. As an IQA Technician, you play a vital part in ensuring the quality and safety of the medical devices that reach patients worldwide. Your work directly supports our commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ensuring that every component meets the rigorous standards required for patient care.
This position is based onsite in Irving, TX, for a 6-month duration. You will be the first line of defense in our quality assurance process, performing incoming dimensional and visual inspections on inbound materials for medical device assembly. Your day-to-day involves using hand tools like calipers, gauges, and rulers to verify cable harness assemblies and printed circuit board assemblies against engineering drawings and inspection plans.
Beyond physical inspection, you will maintain accurate records and documentation to meet compliance standards. You will be responsible for accepting or rejecting supplier lots, documenting non-conformances, and initiating discrepant material reports. This role requires a balance of independent problem-solving for recurring situations and the initiative to escalate complex issues to senior quality personnel. You will also support broader Quality and Environmental Management Systems while ensuring adherence to FDA, ISO, and safety regulations.
Abbott and Talent Solutions partner to deliver top talent for contingent roles. Candidates selected for this opportunity will undergo a standard screening process to verify qualifications and experience with medical device manufacturing or regulated environments.
