As the Infection Control Nurse, you serve as the primary guardian of safety within our nursing care facility. This position is critical to our mission of providing high-quality, secure care for our residents while maintaining strict compliance with federal and state health regulations. You will act as the bridge between clinical practice, administrative oversight, and regulatory standards, ensuring that our facility remains a safe environment for both residents and staff.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of direct nursing care, strategic program development, and cross-departmental collaboration. You will conduct rounds to monitor isolation precautions, review complex laboratory reports, and consult with the Director of Nursing Services to refine care plans for residents with infectious diseases. Beyond clinical duties, you will lead the Infection Control Committee, develop comprehensive training programs for staff, and manage the facility's response to potential outbreaks or occupational exposures.
We operate under a rigorous framework of infection control standards, including CDC, OSHA, and local guidelines. This role is essential in interpreting these policies and translating them into actionable procedures for our diverse departments, from laundry and environmental services to nursing and maintenance. You will ensure that our protocols for sterilization, waste disposal, and personal protective equipment usage are not only in place but actively practiced by every team member.
Candidates selected for an interview will undergo a review of their nursing credentials and experience in long-term care. The process includes a discussion of your approach to epidemiology, microbiology, and aseptic technique, as well as your ability to lead committee meetings and develop staff training initiatives.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our organization. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
