The Interpreter/Cultural Mediator serves as a vital bridge between Spanish-speaking patients and families and hospital service providers. This position goes beyond simple translation; it coordinates the entire system of interpretation requests, arranges necessary coverage, and maintains critical data on interpretation needs to ensure equitable care.
In this role, you will facilitate interactions with deep respect for differing cultures, beliefs, and levels of understanding. You will support hospital staff in developing cultural competency when working with Latino populations, mediating cultural issues between staff and families to foster a more inclusive environment.
