About the Role
The Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and highly motivated Internal Medicine Veterinary Nurse to join the Outpatient Internal Medicine Service. This role supports the delivery of advanced specialty care in a fast-paced, academic teaching hospital environment.
As a key liaison between clinicians, clients, and the broader hospital team, you will provide high-level technical nursing care and assist with complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position plays a vital role in patient advocacy, clinical workflow coordination, and the education of veterinary students, interns, and residents. The role includes participation in the hospital's holiday schedule and isolation/wards coverage as part of shared clinical responsibilities.

- check_circleProvide advanced nursing care for outpatient internal medicine patients across specialty services
- check_circlePerform technical procedures including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and ECG monitoring
- check_circlePrepare, administer, and monitor sedation and anesthetic protocols for diagnostic procedures
- check_circleServe as primary client contact for intake, discharge education, and medication management
- check_circleCoordinate diagnostic results, referrals, and case updates with clinicians and house officers
- check_circleAssist in the clinical instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents
- check_circleCollaborate with nursing leadership to improve clinical standards and workflow efficiency

Requirements
