The Internal Audit Intern plays a vital role in supporting the completion of assigned audit projects within a professional office environment. This position requires a high level of trust, as the intern will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information that must remain strictly within the department. The role demands diplomacy, courtesy, and tact when interacting with management and team members to foster sound professional relationships.
Interns will perform audit fieldwork and procedures, gathering and documenting sufficient evidence to support audit conclusions. A significant portion of the day involves learning internal software systems and reporting capabilities while collaborating with the department on a day-to-day basis. The role includes participating in scheduled meetings and executing projects with a focus on quality and accuracy. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with primarily local travel during the business day.
