The Memphis Grizzlies Communications & Publications team supports the VP of Communications, Directors, and Coordinators in managing all team-related matters. From game-day media services to corporate communications for FedExForum, the team ensures accurate and timely information flows to the media, coaching staff, and the public.
As a Communications & Publications Intern, you will provide direct support to the leadership team, gaining hands-on experience in professional sports operations. This role is designed to bridge your education with real-world application, offering a competitive advantage for a career in sports management.
You will be embedded in the daily rhythm of the Grizzlies, assisting with game-day preparation and staff duties during all home games, including preseason, regular season, and postseason. Your day-to-day will involve covering practices, shootarounds, and team events, as well as supporting FedExForum events like concerts and family shows. You will help develop media coverage for business initiatives, compile daily news clippings, and create media packets featuring game notes and statistics for visiting media and internal staff.
The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to major publications, including the Grizzlies media guide, postseason guide, and draft guides. You will write timely game recaps for Grizzlies.com, assist in preparing press releases and media kits, and pitch story ideas to the media. This position requires thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines, often falling on weekends and holidays.
