About the Opportunity
A well-established insurance company is seeking a Senior Underwriter to lead its Specialty Program for Personal Grooming & Fitness Businesses. This role focuses on underwriting Excess & Surplus Property & Casualty accounts within a niche market that includes health and day spas, tattoo and piercing studios, tanning salons, hair and nail salons, massage parlors, barber shops, personal trainers, gyms, fitness centers, and boutique health clubs.
The Role
As a highly visible and influential member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and accepting or declining submissions while rigorously evaluating risks. You will develop and revise contract wordings to create customized coverage solutions for various lines of business, ensuring the profitability of the book of business through detailed loss ratio analysis and file audits. A key part of this position involves building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and agents, as well as assisting with reinsurance purchases and supporting management with the annual business plan.
