The Insurance Representative is a sales-focused position dedicated to writing new quality business and conserving existing accounts. While providing ongoing service to policy owners is a core function, it serves primarily as a vehicle to drive further sales activity. The role requires a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently without close supervision, often extending into evenings and weekends to meet client needs and achieve objectives.
Representatives report directly to a Managing Representative, Associate Director, or Managing Director. Success is measured against weekly and annual objectives agreed upon with your supervisor, including submitted life and health applications, placements, annualized controllable increase, Personal Financial Planning (PFP) sales interviews, Quality Life Check-ups (QLCs), and persistency metrics. You will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing action plans that align with both company and personal goals to ensure net premium growth for the assigned agency.
To achieve these goals, you will establish annual individualized objectives within your Marketing Plan and define the specific methods and activities required to reach them. Regular Action Planning Conferences (APCs) with your direct supervisor will be held to review progress on activity, sales, service, and training goals. This collaborative approach ensures you remain on track to meet the high expectations and sense of urgency required for the role.
