The Instrument Test Technician I is a pivotal member of the production team in Sparks Glencoe, MD, dedicated to the assembly, analysis, and performance optimization of moderately complex instruments. This role serves as a subject matter expert in instrument functional performance, bridging the gap between manufacturing execution and quality assurance. The technician ensures that every unit meets defined pass/fail criteria through rigorous testing and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
In this position, you will not only execute test instructions and interpret data to drive corrective actions but also play a key role in optimizing system precision. You will be responsible for identifying defects and recommending design or process improvements, effectively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a strong commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards, ensuring a compliant and efficient production environment.
Beyond technical execution, this role involves mentoring and coaching associates in mechanical assembly and testing activities. You will interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. The position demands flexibility to manage frequent changes in assignments and the ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
