About the Role
As a Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide at Big Country Elementary, you will serve as a vital partner to the classroom teacher. Your primary mission is to help individual students and small groups achieve the same skill levels as the rest of the class, ensuring every learner can fully benefit from the instructional program and available resources.
You will be the backbone of a well-organized and smoothly functioning classroom environment. Your day involves reinforcing learning introduced by the teacher, reading to students, listening to them read, and facilitating oral communication. You will also monitor students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, and act as the primary point of contact for substitute teachers when the regular instructor is absent.
Success in this role requires the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, the community, and school administration. You will be expected to maintain the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information while demonstrating patience, tolerance, and emotional control under stress.
