The Installation Technician (I.T.) lives VIP's mission to earn automotive customers for life. This role is built on the foundation of effective repair and replacement of automotive tires, parts, fluids, and accessories, with a core commitment to ensuring services are done right the first time.
As an Installation Technician, you will work effectively and safely to foster good communication, teamwork, and operational excellence in serving customers. Your day-to-day involves providing comprehensive automotive repair and maintenance services, including tire services, oil changes, under-hood services (batteries, filters, bulbs, wipers), multi-point vehicle inspections (MPIs), wheel alignments, and preventive maintenance.
Safety is Priority #1. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work area, securing customer vehicles, and adhering to all safety policies and loss prevention programs. Beyond technical repairs, you play a vital role in customer engagement by actively participating in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process, educating customers about their vehicle's condition, and ensuring a valid Service Work Order is initiated and displayed for every vehicle.
Candidates must be prepared to complete all required training and certification for the position, including LMS training, safe equipment operation training, and specific industry certifications such as T.I.A. basic automotive tire service (BATS), T.I.A. advanced TPMS, and ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5). Additionally, becoming a Licensed State Vehicle Inspector is a state-specific requirement for this role.
