At St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, our Cancer Institute is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to the adult inpatient oncology and hematology population. We operate under a culture of "Hello humankindness," ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to dignity and support for patients and families navigating complex medical journeys.
The Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner serves as a vital partner to our team of oncology physicians and advanced practice providers. Reporting to the Cancer Institute Administrator, you will guide patients through the entire continuum of care—from initial diagnosis and treatment planning to the management of acute complications and palliative needs.
This role is primarily focused on inpatient settings, though candidates with relevant certifications may have opportunities to rotate between inpatient and outpatient environments. You will be involved in all aspects of cancer care, managing everything from diagnostic assessments and treatment protocols to end-of-life coordination. Your work ensures seamless, holistic care through close collaboration with physicians, nurses, social workers, and specialists.
Interested candidates should submit their application with a current resume and cover letter detailing their experience in hematology and oncology. The selection process includes a review of credentials, followed by an interview with the Cancer Institute Administrator and key clinical team members to discuss clinical competencies and cultural fit.
