Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is an advanced information technology and engineering company serving the U.S. government, private industry, and independent institutions. At the core of our capabilities is a seasoned team of highly skilled engineers and scientists with multidisciplinary backgrounds, challenged daily to provide cutting-edge technology solutions.
SRC supports the Department of War (DoW) Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), a critical entity ensuring warfighters maintain a decisive edge. The TRMC ensures DoW components possess the appropriate test and evaluation (T&E) infrastructure required to develop and field military systems. As a Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support staff, our team delivers specialized technical expertise, engineering oversight, program management, and acquisition support to help the government design, manage, and deliver complex systems, including unique test infrastructure.
We are seeking an experienced Test Facility Lead Engineer to serve as the technical lead and trusted advisor for a cutting-edge hypersonic T&E infrastructure project. This role is a critical part of the government's oversight team, providing comprehensive technical oversight for the design, integration, operation, and maintenance of new and existing large-scale hypersonic ground test capabilities.
You will act as the authoritative technical Point of Contact (POC) for a state-of-the-art high-speed, transonic, and supersonic wind tunnel test capability. Working under the Chief Engineer and in coordination with other Test Facility Lead Engineers and the Construction Lead, you will ensure that once functional, the facility and its systems operate safely, reliably, and in alignment with performance requirements. The ideal candidate is a transonic and supersonic wind tunnel subject matter expert with strong documentation and communication skills, personal accountability, and a desire to work as part of a collaborative team.
This position offers flexibility to work onsite in Alexandria, VA, or St. Paul, Minnesota, or as a Full-Time Remote role if relocation is not an option. The role requires approximately 20% travel per year (approximately ten non-consecutive weeks) to support project needs.
Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. SRC is a contractor for the U.S. Government, and this position requires U.S. citizenship as well as an active SECRET security clearance. For positions requiring a security clearance, selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
