As an HVAC - Refrigeration Engineer, you will be the guardian of the vessel's climate and cooling systems. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC and Refrigeration systems and installations onboard. This role involves supervising the Refrigeration Assistant Engineers and the Air Conditioning Team to ensure Show Quality Standards are met while maintaining high Guest Service Recovery ratings.
In this position, you will manage complex machinery including Carrier centrifugal compressors, brine chiller units, and associated pumping systems. Your day-to-day involves ensuring zero gas and glycol leakage tolerance, monitoring refrigerant consumption under EPA rules, and utilizing systems like AMOS and AIMS to forecast work and address deficiencies. Beyond technical operations, you will interact with guests, crew, and contractors in a friendly and respectful manner, fostering the reputation and integrity of the Engineering Department.
This is a shipboard role requiring you to be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel. You will embrace a multicultural environment with strict rules and regulations, potentially sharing a confined cabin with other crew members. Safety is paramount; you must be willing to perform safety roles, emergency responsibilities, and uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the ship's Assembly Plan and Safety Management System.
To join our team, you must have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide documents to obtain this). The process includes completing a pre-employment medical and obtaining a criminal background check. Please bring approved work shoes to your start date.
