This position serves as a confidential support partner to the Human Resources Manager, acting as a central hub for HR operations within the District. The role is designed to ensure seamless administrative execution, from managing sensitive employee records to facilitating the onboarding journey for new hires. Success in this role requires a high degree of discretion, as the incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality under all circumstances while fostering respectful, professional relationships with employees, vendors, and customers.
The day-to-day rhythm involves a blend of detailed record-keeping, process coordination, and direct employee interaction. You will manage the lifecycle of employee data, including I-9 verification, FMLA administration, and the maintenance of critical spreadsheets tracking veterans, disability, promotions, and EEO compliance. Beyond data, the role extends to the human side of HR: assisting with recruiting logistics, scheduling interviews, and creating a monthly company newsletter to engage staff. You will also handle the physical and digital flow of information, from daily mail distribution to preparing comprehensive orientation packages and policy handbooks for new drivers and field staff.
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you will collaborate closely with all District staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of HR filing systems and ensuring that every employee interaction is handled with professionalism and efficiency.
