The Human Resource Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and Management Team, leading the planning, development, and coordination of all Human Resources policies and activities. This role is critical to ensuring legal compliance while driving the organization's mission and talent strategy forward.
You will oversee the HR department, managing staff and fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive working environment across the agency. The position acts as a bridge between leadership and employees, facilitating supervisor training, managing complex employment issues, and ensuring that recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes align with organizational goals.
Your work will involve a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on management. You will collaborate with department supervisors to identify staffing needs and support best practices in hiring. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to maintaining compliance with BOLI regulations, accreditation requirements, and employment laws, including the annual update of the Employee Handbook.
You will analyze organizational trends and HR metrics to inform decision-making, conduct audits for ACA reporting, and facilitate unemployment benefits claims. Additionally, you will support diversity initiatives through EEO-1 reporting, manage employee benefits administration, and oversee professional credentialing processes. The role requires close collaboration with finance, payroll, and legal teams to ensure seamless operations and accurate reporting on staff demographics, turnover, and satisfaction.
