We are seeking an experienced Special Education teacher to provide History instruction to our high school students. This role is designed for a certified educator or one who is on the pathway to certification. You will serve as a key member of our teaching team, working under the general supervision of the Principal to deliver meaningful and differentiated instruction.
In this position, you will implement an alternative teaching model, focusing on small group instruction for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) identified as Tier 2 or Tier 3 within our MTSS program. Your day will involve planning clear, logical, and sequential lessons that integrate technology and meet diverse student needs. You will collaborate closely with co-teachers and specialists to ensure instructional strategies effectively engage all learners, from modeling skills to utilizing cooperative learning techniques.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a vital role in the school community by maintaining open communication with parents and guardians, monitoring student progress through various assessments, and contributing to school-wide initiatives. This is a full-time, 10-month position with regular hours from Monday through Friday, 7:55 am to 3:55 pm, including participation in special events.

Master's Degree in History; NYS certification in Special Education (must be on the pathway); At least 2 years of prior teaching experience in middle school; Demonstrated success working in non-traditional and/or urban school settings; Experience with educational technology.
