The Intervention Specialist serves as a vital bridge between specialized support and general education, working closely with the Principal, Teaching Staff, and the Director of Special Education. This role is dedicated to building a strong foundation for learning for students with disabilities or those at risk of dropping out. The primary mission is to foster self-motivation, ensure daily attendance through engaging instruction, and guide students toward graduation and career readiness.
Intervention Specialists support a diverse caseload, primarily serving students at their assigned school site while also providing virtual support to students across the Network as needed. The role requires a balance of direct specialized instruction, strategic collaboration with general education teachers, and rigorous compliance management to ensure every student receives the resources and accommodations outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
We believe in a holistic approach to education that integrates academic recovery with personal growth. Intervention Specialists are expected to maintain positive rapport with students and families, utilizing data to personalize instruction and help students visualize their own growth. By participating in school-wide initiatives like MTSS and PBIS, and by facilitating Industry Recognized Credentials, the role ensures students are not only recovering credits but are also developing the skills necessary for future career success.
Candidates selected for this position will engage in a comprehensive interview process designed to assess both technical expertise in special education compliance and the interpersonal skills necessary for building strong student relationships. The process typically includes an initial screening, a discussion of past intervention strategies, and a final meeting with school leadership to discuss team fit and vision for student engagement.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all students and staff can thrive. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or veteran status.
