HRAC Mechanic

About the Role

Amentum is seeking an HRAC Mechanic to support operations at Creech AFB. In this role, you will provide comprehensive heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning services, ranging from installation and servicing to diagnosing complex environmental-control systems. You will apply your knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout to maintain critical infrastructure.

Your day-to-day work involves mounting compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors, fabricating and installing ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalwork tools and welding equipment, and connecting various components such as evaporative units, motors, and ventilation fans. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, replace defective controls and wiring, and calibrate thermostats and timers. This position operates under a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and requires the ability to work with minimal supervision while responding to service calls within strict timeframes.
